Rainy Day People...

So, it's the second day of cloudy, overcast skies in Raleigh. This weather is the inspiration for my post. Actually, it made me think of an activity that Bryan did with the kids the other night. This activity can be found in The Rainy day Book that Chick-fil-A gives away in their kid's meals.

Since we didn't have any good washable face paint to use, my hubby decided to use washable markers instead. Let me just say, the kids really really enjoyed having their hands "painted". I think a certain dad had fun doing it too.

Here are our results:

(just disregard the 3-legged man in the middle)

Kate loves it when she gets to do fun things with her Daddy.

This pic cracked me up...it actually looks like 2 people stretching! Also notice #7's chunky legs.

Kate has really been enjoying her track-out. We haven't done anything major, just lots of little activities. Here are a few to share with you:

Kate was rewarded for good behavior with a trip to Starbucks to get some hot chocolate. She felt so grown-up drinking out of an official Starbucks cup with an official Starbucks lid! She loved the taste, even with the whipped cream on top! (My child just knew she wouldn't like the whipped cream and had a hard time admitting otherwise.) By the way, don't you just love the cute headband she is wearing? I just bought 2 from my friend Sarah. They are reversible and do a great job of STAYING put. Check out her Etsy store for some cool stuff!

We hung out with Nanay on her birthday. Kate loves it when Nanay comes over because she is the only one who will play "pretend" with her for more than 15 minutes.

Kate has enjoyed the many electronics we own. She has watched Ratatouille on our big screen, played the drums for Rock Band (we actually are borrowing that from our friends), and sung & played on both of her keyboard sets. Here she is with her small portable one (notice cute headband #2).

That reminds me of a random conversation Kate and I had yesterday. We were in the kitchen baking a taco ring, and listening to my Ipod. I was singing the words to "Between the Moon and NYC". Here's how it went:

Me: IF you get caught between the moon and NYC, the best that you can do is fall in love.
Kate: Did you make that up or is that the real song?
Me: No, those are the words...the best that you can do is fall in love.
Kate: That's not true, Mom. The best that you can do...is believe in God.

So true, Kate. So true.

I just have to say, someone in that house is an amazing artist. Look at the striking resemblance between Kate's character and the one in the book. What skill! And hats off to that dad for spending that QT with his children. There probably isn't a better dad out there. And he's so attractive too. You've got a real catch there Jenifer. You should probably give him a massage when he gets home.

I am always amazed when our little ones show such great wisdom and insight for their age. You guys seem like you have had a GREAT trackout! I can't wait to make candy treats next week!
