This is an easy "recipe" and Kate enjoyed adding all the finishing touches. Here are the ingredients:
-14-ounce bag of candy melts (I like Wilton's)
-craft sticks (I use 8 inch lollipop sticks from Michael's)
-10-ounce bag of marshmallows (Not the minis)
-Assortment of sprinkles, nuts, candy...whatever!
Kate and I love sprinkles, and this time, since Halloween is right around the corners, we added candy pumpkins to some of the tops of our lollipops.
It's super easy, just melt the candy in the microwave (or use a double boiler if you prefer). Stick the marshmallows on the lollipop sticks, dip them in the melted candy and then decorate with your sprinkles, etc.
They need to cool in the frig on a cookie sheet (I line mine with wax paper) for at least 15 minutes. If I am making them as gifts, then I will wrap them in a candy bag and tie it with a festive ribbon! So cute. For another twist, I have made a "SugarPlum Tree"...basically styrofoam cone, painted green, with the lollipops inserted all around the cone. Very cute....nice centerpiece.

Here are some pics of Kate making the lollipops:
And here is a look at our finished product:
After dinner, Kate got the idea that we should take them around to all her neighborhood friends so they could enjoy the lollipops, too. And believe me, when my child is in the giving mood, I am ready and willing to help her. So, we set out in the drizzle with lollipops in hand.
We both had a great time and surprisingly, it wasn't long before they were all gone.
Oh, and for those who are interested, I found the picture of my Christmas SugarPlum Tree...

I have made these before! I love them. We went to disney and they sold them. So I came home and made chocolate covered ones with peppermint and green/red sprinkles for Christmas. They are wonderful to bring to your child's school parties for any holiday!
How fun! What great pictures of your kids!
