Saying Goodbye to Being a Kinderfly

I can't believe that today is Kate's last day of Kindergarten. I started off this year feeling weepy and so it's no surprise that I'll be shedding a few tears before this day is over. I hate being so emotional about everything, but I guess that's just who I am and after 35 years, you aren't going to change this "I cry at the AT&T commercials" girl.

I'd like to give a shout-out to Kate's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Debbie Chaffee! She was such an incredible teacher (for Kate and for me). I never had to worry about the level of care or attention Kate received at school because Ms. Chaffee was like a second mother to her. She really loves her kinderflies! Kate is going to miss her and Brier Creek Elementary.

I am so proud of Kate's accomplishments this year: reading at a Level 16 (END of first grade level), writing her first short story about a girl and a bee, singing her first solo in the class play, Goin'Buggy, and making lots of new friends! Way to go Kate. I can't believe that she will be turning 6 in July and heading off to First grade. I'm praying for a great teacher and continued success for Kate!

I was looking through old pics, and found this one of Kate on her first day of school. Wow, she really has grown this year!
