1. Katelyn is really developing a love for reading. She reminds me so much of me when I was her age. I could be found anywhere in the house, with my nose in a book. I'm pretty sure I even tried to read while walking and while eating (although frowned upon at the dinner table, sorry Dad). This is how I found her in the kitchen the other day:
2. Ever since watching the episode where King Julien puts cucumber slices over his eyes, Aaron had been asking to try this at home. So the other day while we were at the new Food Lion, he ran over to the fresh produce section and grabbed a cuke! We took it home, sliced it up, and layed down together on the soft rug in our dining room. Hmm...I think they lasted all of 2 minutes on his eyes. Instead of wearing them, he decided it would be a lot more fun to cut them to pieces with a knife (yes Mom, it was plastic). I guess that's what boys do? Slice, dice, and tear things apart...the poor cukes didn't stand a chance really. On a side note, Mommy enjoyed her 15 minutes of relaxation, but was sad to see it did NOTHING for her puffy eyes.
Here is Vader with his first (and hopefully last) at-home spa treatment:
3. I think I'm actually beginning to thaw out a little from this cold winter season. I took out my camera for the first time in ages to try and get some shots of my kids. I had a lot of fun processing the pictures using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (my gift to myself this Christmas).
Okay, so the last one is of my sister with her new little one. He is so cute and smells soooooo good. Everyone knows how much I love that fresh, baby smell! My sister only lives a few minutes from my house, so I've been able to visit them often. Love you Walker!
4. Katelyn's class has been learning all about Fairy Tales this quarter. To celebrate the ending of this unit, her teacher held a Fairy Tale Ball for the entire class. Not only did they 'act out' a couple of funny plays for the parents, but they ate a formal dinner together, AND waltzed to music together. It was so cute to see the kids all dressed up and on their best behavior, and I think the kids really enjoyed it.
This little princess sure loves her Daddy.
5. I'm realizing that I'm not that great at lists. Most people have these really cute/funny lists. And did I mention short? I'm obviously not that great at being 'to the point'. I also have a problem with photos...I can't seem to share a story without one. But that's okay. I love sharing my photos and my stories...and if no one else reads them, I'm hoping one day my kids will enjoy these pages. So there.

I love that you post pictures with your stories! Not only do I hear your narration in your voice (yeah, it's kinda weird how that happens)but I love to see the pictures that go with it!! They are always so beautiful! Love ya!
The stories are what matter. I love hearing your story!
Yay! New blogs!
The cucumbers remind me of something Emma said the other day.... I was telling her that maybe when she got a little bigger we could go and have a Mommy/Daughter spa day together. She shook her head and said, NO Mommy, I don't want to go there! You have to put pickles on your eyes!
HaHa!
Cute pic of Katelyn and Noah! That was such a fun day. Can't believe how big their getting! :)
ME, ME, ME!! I LOVE READING YOUR STORIES/LISTS/DAILY HULABALOOS! Your blog infrequency became rather excessive that I got out of the habit of checking your blog! Today I was delighted to find "new posts" link on my dashboard! Your pictures are wonderful; the jealousy grows...
One day, YES, one day I will be able to take photos like you and keep my children's childhood as well documented as you have! What a blessing it is to know you and have you as an inspiration in SO MANY areas of my life!
Counting down the hours till I get to see you all!
