I'm Just A Girl...

I AM a wife, a daughter, a stay-at-home mom, a sister, and a child of God!

I AM NOT stupid.

I KNOW what people might think about me.

I THINK it takes effort, understanding, selfless behavior and a splash of humor to have a good marriage.

I DON’T THINK a marathon will ever be in my future.

I WANT to be sitting in the sand, at some sunny beach RIGHT NOW.

I HAVE two beautiful kids that I love with a mommy's heart.

I LIKE getting pedicures. You know, the ones with the long massages. Can I get an amen?

I DISLIKE diaper changing. I will celebrate when my toddler is fully potty trained!

I HATE cancer.

I DREAM of a day in the future when I can go to the bathroom and not have a small voice call out from under the door, "Mommmmmy, are you in there?"

I FEAR leaving this world without fully grasping my relationship with God.

I’M ANNOYED when people aren't paying attention (traffic, check-out counters, hey-I'm talking to YOU!)

I CRAVE all foods Mexican.

I USUALLY can finish reading a good book in a couple of nights. Now, my eyes will be bloodshot, but the book will be DONE.

I SEARCH for missing socks all the time.

I HIDE my fears on a daily basis. I don't want my kids to worry.

I WONDER if we will be going to Las Palmas again this week?

I REGRET not visiting my Aunt Jeanne when she was in the hospital. She died before I got to tell her face-to-face how much I loved her.

I LOVE my husband because he is really cute...oh, and really funny (my daughter told me to type that one!).

I CAN make hair bows; snap a decent photo; make people laugh; sing along to most songs on the radio

I CAN’T begin to explain how God exists, but I believe in Him.

I TRY to really enjoy the small things and live in the moment each and every day.

I ENJOY a good glass of Cabernet Sauvignon; a slushy Pina Colada; an ice cold bottle of beer.

I DON’T CARE if I ever have a career job again.

I ALWAYS check on my kids before I go to bed at night...some of the sweetest moments, just sitting beside them, listening to them breathe.

I NEVER spend more money on clothes than I have to...gotta love my Kohl's discounts .

I’D RATHER be at the beach...any day.

I RELY on Bryan for a LOT. Thanks honey!

I BELIEVE the children are our future; I can fly, I can soar; for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.

I DANCE in the kitchen with my kids (and sometimes even B when he's feeling crazy)!

I SING at Karaoke bars when it's "Ladies' Night".

I ARGUE with my TV: Political Debates, Presidential Addresses, Duke Basketball, The View, Oprah, I could go on.

I WRITE for my blog and on Facebook, but wish I would write more letters.

I WIN at Cornhole.

I LOSE weight and then gain it back.

I WISH for nothing; I pray about everything.

I LISTEN to Ella, Mary J., Third Day, Castro, Burlap to Cashmere, EW&F, Norah, The Drifters, Old MJ, Stevie, JT, Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Dave Matthews, Pearl Jam, Santana, ABBA, Jennifer Knapp, Rihanna, Tobymac, Alison Krauss, Van Morrison, The Police...

I DON’T UNDERSTAND why children have to suffer...ever.

I’M SCARED that I'll die and my kids will be left without a mother.

I FORGOT my combination to my locker...you know...the one from high school.

I AM HAPPY to be alive and to be saved from my sin.

I LOVE this! My two favorites I think are HIDE and CAN'T, but I like them all. Well written and a cool idea.

Wow Jen, that said a lot is such little. It reassures how thankful I am to have you as a mother in my life. I would never be ashamed to say, "Yep, that's her". Reading this made me hope that one day I can have the youthful maturity, the love of christ, the fun outgoing love of life, and the passion for others that you have. Thanks for always being my psychologist, my listener, my wise guy, my taxi service, etc. You mean more than you will ever know to me!
I think I am going to steal this idea from you for my blog. Hope that's ok!
Big Hugs,
Kelsey

Very interesting list. I bet it was fun to jot down those important things about you. So often we blog/write about our kids and loved ones but rarely about us as mommies. At the end of the day, we're still children of a loving God.
