Okay, so I admit it. I
was one of those moms who, upon hearing, "boys are just so much more active than girls", would roll her eyes. I mean
really. My first born was NOT a boy and was definitely VERY active.
While I still believe some of this is personality-based...I will admit after having a boy, that man....are they super active. And it's a different
kind of active. With Kate, she always wanted to be doing something. The difference with a boy (Aaron, at least)?? Just add "destructive" to the end of my previous sentence.
I have documented just a few of the things Aaron has destroyed
this month alone:

Not a biggie, but still! His daddy was mad to find this mess on the office desk. That's some fine correction tape goin' to waste!

Hmm....anyone know how to get red crayon out of a rug? I have yet to be successful...

You may not be able to tell by this photo...but these drums have had a beatin! (Sorry, couldn't resist). Bryan kept finding these little gold pieces all over the downstairs floor. He finally pieced together what my little rugrat was doing....Aaron was having fun popping off the little gold buttons on these drum ornaments. He would then try and unravel the gold string attached to the buttons.

And finally...the one that broke my heart. I just bought this beautiful piece at the Junior League Shopping Spree this November. I couldn't wait to put it out for Christmas. You see, Bryan and I don't have an official nativity yet. I can't believe it either, but we just haven't been able to find one that we BOTH like. While this isn't a nativity, I love that it has baby Jesus/Mary/Joseph, and I loved the style. Bryan liked it too. Okay...I'm gettin' off track. I loved it so much, I decided to highlight it in my living room. I placed it on my black table, never giving a thought to how easy it would be for little hands to reach
it. That same day, I found Aaron, moving Mary and Joseph around, "to be closer to the baby". It was cute, but not cute enough. I told him in no uncertain terms that he was NOT allowed to touch them ever again. So, I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that by the end of the night, the "J" lay on the ground, broken in 3 pieces. Aaron's little "soooorrry Mommy" fell on deaf ears. He got a reminder for that one. I am so thankful that Bryan was able to put it back together with superglue. And I wisely decided on a different location for the rest of the Christmas season. Somewhere...ahem...up HIGH.
